Ulverston BID Extends the Free Town WiFi

The Ulverston BID, has taken the free WiFi to the next stage in the town in October 2021. The Wifi was originally installed 2 years ago and created a high-speed link for the public to use in the town centre.

The next stage extended the Wifi to the carpark, Buxton Place, the Gill, Fountain St and Brewery St in addition to tis the BID extended the service to the town centre pub gardens to give a clear hi speed connection whilst you enjoy leisure time.

The Ulverston Town Council supported the initiative and the BID placed Wifi for the Gill toilet payment system to ensure that supply is always there.

The extension of the Wifi also enables the BID to see the footfall of pedestrians in the Town Centre making the high street a smarter street and able to see the patterns of trade in the town.

When you logon onto the Wifi you will be invited to explore the town centre APP Loyal Free and start saving at the local stores or exploring the Town Trails.

The Wifi will enable you to explore the towns shops and eateries directly to them or use the Ulverston BID’s tourist and community site Choose Ulverston.

About the BID

Why Does Ulverston need a BID?

BIDs are business-led initiatives taking advantage of government legislation that gives local businesses the power to raise their own funds to spend on their priorities in order to improve their trading environment. Ulverston BID is an investment scheme where local businesses collectively agree on the priorities and how to invest their money to benefit themselves, their staff, their customers and, as a consequence, the town as a whole.
