Ulverston Canal Walk

Step by Step

  • Start at Canal Foot. Here you can look out over the river Leven towards the viaduct and over Morecambe Bay.
  • Keep the canal on your left and follow the path
  • Follow the path until you reach the basin at Canal Head
  • Turn around and walk back the same way

Difficulty – Fairly flat walk, it's a good walk to get started with.

  1. Foot bridge. Cross this and walk down the pier or go to the Bay Horse
  2. Foot bridge across the canal - comes out on North Lonsdale Road
  3. There's often cormorants in the trees here drying their wings
  4. The viaduct
