Ulverston BID Extends Parking 2021

Ulverston BID Place Continue the Parking

The Ulverston BID has continued throughout the pandemic to support the Buxton st Car Park with the 50p for 1hour and £1 for 2 hours. The initiative is in partnership with the Town Council and creates a 72k investment in the town to reduce the parking charges.

The BID is constantly monitoring the effect of the reduction with the visitor numbers and time spent in the town with the data being produced from the SLDC. After the term in 2022 the BID and Town Council will assess if the scheme continues further.

Why Does Ulverston need a BID?

BIDs are business-led initiatives taking advantage of government legislation that gives local businesses the power to raise their own funds to spend on their priorities in order to improve their trading environment. Ulverston BID is an investment scheme where local businesses collectively agree on the priorities and how to invest their money to benefit themselves, their staff, their customers and, as a consequence, the town as a whole.
