Ulverston's Businesses
Ulverston Market Charter was granted by King Edward I at Carlisle in 1280. Ulverston was a quiet market town until its expansion following the construction of the canal to the sea, which opened in 1796.
Today the Market Hall offers a superb shopping experience for visitors and residents alike. There is a wide selection of goods and services on offer including fruit and veg stalls, cheese delis, bakery shops, haberdashery stalls, ladies fashion shops, gift and card shops and leather goods stalls and antiques.
