Ulverston Lantern Festival will be taking place in the centre of the town this year. Ford Park, which usually hosts much of the festival’s activities, will instead only offer car parking facilities for the event. Fireworks will instead be staged close to Ulverston town centre and will be visible from Market Cross, The Gill and Buxton car park, where many are expected to gather for this year’s event. Festival activities are planned for the town centre finale which will include performances, food & drink stalls, bands, circus acts and street entertainment.
Lantern Making Workshops
Lantern Workshops have proved very popular this year, with lots of people attending, all keen to learn how to make their own lanterns and get involved in the event. Workshops are still available and will be running at Church Walk Parish Rooms from 5.30pm-8.30pm each day until Friday this week.
Lantern Kits have also been selling like hot cakes. You can buy them from shops in Ulverston town centre including Appleseeds, The Market Hall, Laurel and Hardy Museum and Costa, and are £5 each. So grab one while you can!
