Ford Park will be hosting its first-ever Scarecrow Festival this month, with the event running from 26th March through to the 8th April. Scarecrows, which have been made and donated by local groups and charities, will be taking over the walled garden, with visitors invited to come and take a look around free of charge! The walled garden is open till 5pm daily.
Charities that have submitted scarecrows for the event include St. Mary’s Hospice, CancerCare, The Roxy, and many more. Whilst entry is free, donations to the charities involved are encouraged. Donations can be made to the charities involved by donation buckets, which will accompany each group’s scarecrow.
Ford Park Community Group is a charity based in Ulverston which helps develop, maintain, and improve the space with the help of its trustees, members, volunteers and supporters. The Park is home to many events throughout the year and also 8 acres of green space, a walled garden and plant nursery, an inclusive play park, and most recently, a wildlife trail.
