Ford Park is to host its first Coniston Charity Kayak Tournament this summer, raising funds for St Mary’s Hospice, CancerCare, and Ford Park Community Group. Local businesses, groups, sports clubs, and friends are all invited to submit a team of three members to partake in the relay race set on Coniston Water on Saturday, 13th July. Each leg of the relay will be approximately 800m.
Team entry will cost £10 per person. Following this, a fundraiser will be set up for the team so they can gain sponsorships to help support the charities involved. All kayaks and equipment have been generously provided by Water Park Lakeland Adventure Centre free of charge, so all teams need to do is turn up with their enthusiasm!
