The Bay Horse Hotel and Restaurant has been the home of Robert Lyons and Lesley Wheeler for almost 30 years now. Idyllically situated at the foot of the Canal by the Levens Estuary it is a great place for a walk and offers something for everyone, whether a morning coffee and homemade shortbread, light snacks or lunch, evening meals and ice cream cones for the children (our very own home made of course!). A welcoming log fire is lit during the winter months and we are dog friendly.
We have consistently featured in The Good Hotel, Good Pub and Good Food Guide for the entire time we have been in business. Robert Lyons was formerly Head Chef at the renowned Miller Howe Hotel in Windermere for 17 years under the ownership of John Tovey. Good, sound cooking is our keyword, no nouvelle cuisine here, just top quality produce served to perfection.
