Latest News: Ulverston's Dickensian Christmas Festival 2020
Read the latest statement about Ulverston Dickensian Festival 2020 from festival committee member Michelle Scrogham below.
"We have spent the past few months risk assessing the Dickensian Festival along with government guidelines and are sad to announce that under current circumstances we are unable to go ahead as usual. The Festival attracts around 20,000 visitors to the town, much more than current regulations will allow and live performances, bands and stages would not be safely viable in the space available to us.
The Dickensian Festival will be cancelled for 2020 but we intend to return bigger and better than ever in 2021.
The committee are looking at other ways of supporting our town traders and stallholders in a smaller way this year and hope that everyone will understand how difficult this year has been and continue to support them by shopping local."
