VE Day 80

Events are planned in Ulverston to mark 80 years since Victory in Europe [VE] Day, when the Second World War came to an end in Europe.

At 10.50am, the Royal British Legion will be holding a short act of remembrance at the War Memorial, Market Cross. At 9.30pm, a beacon will be lit on the top of Hoad Hill next to the Sir John Barrow Monument.
